How to Motivate a Volleyball Team

Step1
Find out what makes the players laugh off the court. Do they share an inside joke? Do they have a funny story? Will they laugh at a funny face? Get to the heart of the team and bring it up!
Step2
Let each player know what a good job they are doing. Give them each an individual compliment to think about, or list the compliments in front of the entire team so everyone can hear the good news.
Step3
Suggest a fun game during warm up. Have them laughing and goofy so they forget what was upsetting them. Although being serious at gametime will be important, so make sure change the mood before the game starts.
Step4
Find out inside information about the team they are about to play. Share this information with them before the game, so they feel they have inside knowledge, too. This will make the team feel more prepared, with confidence and determination to be proven right.
