With the vast possibilities that the internet has to offer, it seems ridiculous that one may get bored while online. Sometimes, boredom simply sets in and it seems like there is no website out there worth looking into. Here are a few things to try out if you are bored out of your mind while online.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • An account for YouTube, Facebook, MySpace or any other similar site
  1. Step 1

Try playing some online games, particularly addicting ones. A game as simple as getting a dolphin to do tricks in the ocean can consume much of your time. Rest assured, there is some sort of game for everyone.

  2. Step 2

Challenge yourself to find some new music. This can be done a number of ways, but one of the most interesting methods is through Pandora.com, an online radio service that finds artists similar to the ones you search for.

  3. Step 3

Start a blog. It can ultimately be quite time-consuming, especially if you try to write a new post every day. Writing posts and getting involved in social networks geared towards bloggers is a great way to meet new people and cure your boredom.

  4. Step 4

Look up your favorite sports team or trivia for a movie you really enjoy. Speaking of movies, search for trailers to new movies and the teasers for those that are still in production. Get the lowdown on what is coming out before everyone else--that should make you feel cool, no?

  5. Step 5

Try scouring YouTube for some videos that interest you. Before you know it, searching for "horrible car accidents" might kill a few hours.

  6. Step 6

Google your name. See what comes up. Is there a serial killer in Massachusetts with the same name as you? Cool!

Tips & Warnings
  • Mindlessly staring at the screen is hardly productive to anyone, so try getting up out of your seat if you really have no idea what to do.
  • If you've got plenty of friends, join an instant messaging service and make them talk to you.
  • The same goes for Facebook and MySpace - creating accounts on these addicting social networking sites could be the end of boredom forever.
  • I'm fairly certain that mindlessly staring at the screen has got to be bad for your eyes.
