How to Use Your Computer to Get a Discount on Satellite Radio

  1. Step 1

Access the Internet and go to www.ebay.com.

  2. Step 2

Type in either "XM" or "Sirius Satellite" (depending on the service you are looking for).

  3. Step 3

If you are looking for a gift card only (usually discounted from face value) then the suggested search is "XM gift" or "Sirius Gift."

  4. Step 4

In the event you are shopping around and are a brand new subscriber, you can also have a radio/receiver bundled with the Satellite gift card as so many people do when you are trying out a new service.

  5. Step 5

If you are not comfortable with eBay, try it for a little while. If you still do not like it, XM and Sirius both offer discounts for subscribing for an entire year using automatic billing/renewal. You will receive a month free for signing up for that type of billing.

  6. Step 6

When you receive your gift cards in the mail, enter one of them right away in the computer on your XM online account. and then the other the next day into your account. If you do not have an account, set one up right away.

  7. Step 7

If you decided not to go the gift card route, check periodically on both websites (XM and Sirius) to see what subscription and/or radios they have on special. You may be able to get a deal with that.

  8. Step 8

    You may want to know...
If you are only going to listen to the satellite broadcast by running it on your computer, companies offer an economical "online only" subscription.

You will get a username and password which is accessible on any PC.

  9. Step 9

Do a Google Internet search for other online discount retailers and special deals on satellite radio subscriptions. This includes receivers and accessories. Often times you can get a better deal online, shop around and read reviews without wasting time and gas money shopping in stores.

Tips & Warnings

  • Sign up for a year at a time to get the most for your money.
  • See the websites below for more helpful information and special deals
