Things You'll Need:
- 4-6 Lemons
- Sugar
- Water
- Lemon zest
- Salt
-
Step 1
Gather the following: 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of water and 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice. This makes a very sweet lemonade. If you are using Meyer lemons (which are naturally sweet) or you prefer your lemonade not as sweet, reduce the amount of sugar you are using.
-
Step 2
Use a juicer to squeeze all of the lemons into a lemon juice. Use as many lemons that are necessary to form a total of 1 cup of lemon juice.
-
Step 3
Pour the portioned out sugar and water into a pan and heat until they are dissolved together. Making the perfect lemonade requires a sweet syrup. This prevents the sugar from sinking into the bottom of the pitcher and ensures that the flavor is completely unified.
-
Step 4
Once it is completely dissolved, add the lemon juice and syrup to a pitcher. Add in about 4 cups of cold water. If you are concerned about the sweetness, add 3 cups of cold water first and then taste it before adding the 4th cup of water.
-
Step 5
Add slices of lemon to your lemonade.
-
Step 6
Add a citrus salt to the rim of each glass for added flavor. In a small dish, add lemon zest and salt. Wipe the rim of the glass with a wedge of lemon. Turn the glass upside down and dip it into the dish with the citrus salt. Turn it around in a circular motion to get the rim of the glass fully covered.
-
Step 7
Serve with ice and lemon wedges.
Estimated Time: 30 to 45 minutes.
