Step1
Prepare e-waste for recycling. For computer recycling, be sure to erase data before sending it off.
Step2
Check whether local recyclers are certified and if they follow industry recognized guidelines.
Step3
Check how much of e-waste materials are actually recycled at different recycling locations. At least 90 percent recycling is ideal.
Step4
Ask different electronics manufacturers if they offer specific recycling programs.
Step5
Check to see if the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a local office where you can recycle e-waste.
