How to Transfer a Domain Name from Fabulous.com to eNom

Transferring a domain name is easy . . . it's just information you don't need very often. This article demystifies the process of transferring domains from Fabulous to eNom.

Things You’ll Need:

• A domain registered at Fabulous.com
• Your login and password for your Fabulous account
• Login and password information for your account at eNom, eNomCentral, or YouStart (accounts are free at all three sites)

1. Verify that the domain name is eligible for transfer -- that is, that the name has been registered for at least 60 days, is not expired, and is not in Registrar Lock status.
2. Log on to your account at Fabulous.
3. In the "Manage" section, click "Domains".
4. For the domain you want to manage, click "Contact".
5. Select the relevant menu items.
6. To add a new contact, click "Add Contacts" and type in new contact information. When you finish, click "Continue".
7. To unlock the domain and obtain the authorization code, navigate to your domain and click "Transfer". Record the authorization code to supply in the eNom transfer request. Clicking "Transfer" unlocks the domain name for five days.
8. Now you're ready to create the transfer request at eNom.
9. Log on to your account at eNom, eNomCentral, or YouStart.
10. In the "DOMAINS" menu, click "transfer a domain name".
11. Select "Auto verification" and click "next".
12. Type in the domain name you want to transfer, a comma, a space, and then the authorization code. If you have more domains, hit "Enter" and type in the information for the next domain on a new line. Repeat for each domain you're transferring, one per line.
13. Set the Registrar Lock, Auto-Renew, Whois, and Password options as you wish.
14. Click "next".
15. Click "submit".
16. When you (or the Whois contacts listed at Fabulous) receive the email from eNom asking for approval of the transfer, do so by following the instructions in the email.

Tips & Warnings

• There are a few unscrupulous businesses that "hijack" names -- transfer unlocked domains to themselves, effectively stealing them. Once you unlock your name, it's advisable to submit the transfer request at eNom quickly, to reduce the time window for any potential hijackers.
• Make sure the transfer email that you approve is eNom's, not from one of these hijackers!
