How to Make Chicken Soup

Chicken soup can be a home remedy. It is very effective when you have a running nose or cold. Medically it has some factors including proteins that may actually boost your body' s immunity to fight infections. So, let's try it!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 lbs of Chicken drum sticks
  • Pot and Pan
  • Onion
  • Turmeric powder
  • Garlic powder or paste
  • Oil
  • Soup bowl
  • Salt

    How to Make Chicken Soup

  1. Step 1

    Remove and clean skin from the chicken drum sticks.

  2. Step 2

    Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan.

  3. Step 3

    Cut one small onion in to thick slices and fry gently in oil.

  4. Step 4

    When onions turn light brown add chicken drum sticks and fry for 3-4 minutes.

  5. Step 5

    Boil almost 3 cups of water in a pot.

  6. Step 6

    Put all the contents in the pan, including oil and fried onions plus the chicken in to the boiling water in the pot.

  7. Step 7

    Add half teaspoon of salt and a quarter teaspoon of turmeric. Then add a quarter teaspoon of garlic powder or paste. Now stir all the contents well.

  8. Step 8

    Cover the pot with lid and cook on medium heat. Cook for at least 25 minutes.

  9. Step 9

    Serve in a soup bowl.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add dried and crushed mint leaves or coriander leaves.

on 12/30/2007 When I'm not feeling very well I always have chicken soup, and it does make me feel better. I have never made home made chicken soup with drum sticks, but will try, I've alway's used the whole chicken or chicken breasts. I will have to try your recipe, thank you.
