Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
The most important feature to keep in mind when selecting your wedding music is the theme of your wedding and who your wedding guests are. If you’re not getting married within a church, you can choose to play anything you want. Even though this is your wedding day, you should consider guests and the kind of music they can relate and dance to. This is a wedding and maybe playing songs like Black Sabbaths “Iron Man” or Aerosmiths “Walk this Way” while the speakers shudder and shake, may be a bit much, and could have grandma and grandpa holding on to each other for dear life.
Step2
If you’re planning on hiring a vocal singer, he or she should go over the songs with you so you both know what to expect from each other. If your wedding singer is part of a live band, then you will need to know what types of songs they can play and their appearance and style. For example: Does the band dress in a neat and fashionable manner, or is their style more grungy looking? Ask to see a picture album of their past performances and references if possible, if they have been in the business for awhile, they should be able to come up with both. If your wedding singer has pre-recorded instrumental music to back her up, you are going to want to hear this pre-recorded music before she sings at your wedding and ask if she plans to have a back up recording just in case something happens after she gets to your wedding. If you hire a live band with or without a vocal singer, a good suggestion is to find a band that is in the business of playing at weddings. A good wedding band can really liven up a crowed and get your guests up and on the dance floor. Ask around for different live musicians and see who most people recommend.
Step3
The Internet is a great place to research and find all the best wedding music you want for your wedding day. Many websites will allow you to download all the songs you want for a fee. Remember to keep things simple on your wedding day, play good tasteful music that everyone can enjoy, and most of all…have a great time. If all goes well, you’ll have the best wedding music to make your wedding individual and perfect.
