If you have some Mini DV tapes you would like to transfer to DVD for viewing on a television, you need a program like Adobe Premiere Pro. Here is a quick and easy way to do that, using Adobe Premiere Pro.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mini DV Camera
  • Firewire
  • Mini DV tape with footage
  • Adobe Premium Pro
  • DVD Burner and the burner’s driver software installed
  1. Step 1

Open Premiere Pro, start a project and save it. Attach your camera to the firewire and turn it on. Adobe Premiere Pro will give you the pop up “Capture” dialog box. Play and record your footage. When you have captured all the footage you want to burn on to the DVD press stop, and save.

  2. Step 2

Your recorded footage will appear in your project window. Drag it into a timeline.

  3. Step 3

Make any edits you want to the footage, and create one seamless file that you wish to export to DVD. (See my other entry on "How to Make Basic Edits to Video Using Adobe Premiere Pro.") Save your work.

  4. Step 4

    Go to File>Export>Export to DVD.

  5. Step 5

Choose "Burn to Disk." Name your disk.

  6. Step 6

Make sure your “Burner Location” is the correct drive for your DVD Burner.

  7. Step 7

Make your Export Range the “Entire Sequence.” This ensures everything in your timeline is included in the disk. Click "Burn."
