Instructions

    • 1

Verify that the domain name is eligible for transfer -- that is, that the name has been registered for at least 60 days, is not expired, and is not in Registrar Lock status.

    • 2

Log on to your account at DomainDiscover.

    • 3

Navigate to the contact information for the domain name you want to transfer.

    • 4

Update the Registrant and Administrative contact information if necessary. It's especially important that the email addresses are up-to-date, because eNom's transfer approvals are done by email.

    • 5

To unlock the domain name, click "domains" and then click "registrar lock". Turn the registrar lock "off" and save changes.

    • 6

To obtain the authorization code, click "view auth-info". Record the authorization code, which you'll need to supply making the transfer request.

    • 7

Now you're ready to create the transfer request at eNom.

    • 8

Log on to your account at eNom, eNomCentral, or BulkRegister.

    • 9

In the "DOMAINS" menu, click "transfer a domain name".

    • 10

Select "Auto verification" and click "next".

    • 11

Type in the domain name you want to transfer, a comma, a space, and then the authorization code. If you have more domains, hit "Enter" and type in the information for the next domain on a new line. Repeat for each domain you're transferring, one per line.

    • 12

Set the Registrar Lock, Auto-Renew, Whois, and Password options as you wish.

    • 13

      Click "next".

    • 14

      Click "submit".

    • 15

When you (or the Whois contacts listed at DomainDiscover) receive the email from eNom asking for approval of the transfer, do so by following the instructions in the email.

Tips & Warnings

  • There are a few unscrupulous businesses that "hijack" names -- transfer unlocked domains to themselves, effectively stealing them. Once you unlock your name, it's advisable to submit the transfer request at eNom quickly, to reduce the time window for any potential hijackers.

  • Make sure the transfer email that you approve is eNom's, not from one of these hijackers.
