How to Do a Hydrotherapy Body Wrap

If you are looking for an all natural and easy way to to cleanse the body of toxins or aid insomnia, try a hydrotherapy body wrap. Hydrotherapy is water therapy and has been used since ancient times to alleviate or cure various diseases. Many spas offer hydrotherapy body wraps in order to cleanse, detox and hydrate the skin, but this treatment is simple and cheap enough to do at home.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • a cold, wet sheet
  • a thick, wool blanket
  • other warm blankets
  • an assistant
  1. Step 1

    First, take a shower to cleanse the skin. Don't put any lotion, oil or moisturizers on the skin after your done.

  2. Step 2

    Lay down and have whoever is assisting you wrap your body in a cold, wet sheet. Then have your assistant cover you with the wool blanket.

  3. Step 3

    The other warm blankets will used to keep your feet warm.

  4. Step 4

    Keep the sheet and blankets on your body until the sheet has become dry. This may cause profuse sweating, which is part of the cleansing process.

  5. Step 5

    After the treatment is over, you may want to take another shower to rinse off all the sweat. You may then continue your normal moisturizing regime.

Tips & Warnings
  • For added benefits, add a few essential oil drops to the sheet. Simply mix a few drops into the water and soak the sheet.
  • Be sure to read all warnings associated with any essential oils.
