Oreo cookies enjoy a long-standing popularity with children and adults. The treat consists of two thin, chocolate wafers with a creamy white filling. A typical way of eating them is to twist the chocolate cookies apart and eat the center first. Crushed Oreos are found in pie crusts and as flavor nuggets in pudding, ice cream, candy and cake. Tips & Warnings

  • For variety in decorating your chocolate-covered Oreos, sprinkle them with chocolate shot, tinted sugar or any other decorating bits.

  • Drizzle coated Oreos with melted chocolate of another color. If you've dipped them in brown chocolate, drizzle with white chocolate.

  • Tint white chocolate to create another color. Red and green are Christmas colors, red and white are Valentine colors and orange and brown are Halloween colors. Consider team colors or tint the chocolate pink and lavender if the cookies are for a little girl.

  • When tinting chocolate, use special color agents made specifically for chocolate. If you use standard vegetable colors, the chocolate will seize up and become useless.
