What's better than a freshly baked cookie filled with thick chunks of chocolate? These cookies are sure to be a hit in your household and will warm the souls of everyone who tries them. For baking these chocolate chunk cookies, use chopped, coarse pieces of chocolate. You can find chocolate by the ounce at specialty food stores or a gourmet chocolate shop. Try white, dark or milk chocolate chunks, or any combination of those.

Things You'll Need:

  • Parchment paper or non-stick aluminum foil
  • Baking sheets

    How to Prepare Chocolate Chunk Batter

  1. Step 1

    Whisk flour, baking soda and salt in small mixing bowl.

  2. Step 2

    Use electric mixer to combine butter and sugar until fluffy. This may take 2 to 3 minutes. Add vanilla and eggs to mixture and beat until incorporated. Add flour mixture and beat only until combined. With a spoon, stir in chocolate chunks.

  3. Step 3

    Cover and place in refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

  4. How to Bake Chocolate Chunk Cookies

  5. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees and be sure rack is in center of oven. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or non-stick aluminum foil. Roll two tbsp. of dough into round balls on baking sheet and flatten only slightly.

  6. Step 2

    Bake cookies 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Check them after about 6 minutes, as ovens vary and some cook quicker than others.

  7. Step 3

    When cookies come out of the oven, allow them to cool on wire cooling racks, if possible. Feel free to try them while warm, when they taste their best!

  • This batter will be enough for approximately 3 dozen cookies.

on 12/20/2007 I adore these cookies. They put out some monster chocolate bars for Christmas and Valentine's Day. They make the best chocolate chunks and are super cheap if you wait to buy them until the day after the holiday. Thanks for the yummy cookies.
