Usually, women obsess over a period that is a day late. There are women who are unable to qualify for free or low cost birth control because their income is just a tad too high. Some religions forbid use of traditional birth control. Find out how to avoid all of these pitfalls to take control of your fertility.

This article is NOT on How to cause a home abortion. Please do not use this information to bring on an abortion.

Things You'll Need:

  • A constant supply of Vitamin C.
  1. Step 1

If you are trying to avoid pregnancy and cannot afford traditional birth control, purchase Vitamin C. When you buy the bottle of this vitamin, be sure it contains only ascorbic acid. This acid is the pure Vitamin C. Your best bet to be positive you are only getting Vitamin C is to buy the cheaper version. No combination vitamins! My personal favorite is only $2 per bottle. Capsules or chewables are fine.

  2. Step 2

For good health, take Vitamin C daily. This will help boost your immune system and if you are worried about an unplanned pregnancy, Vitamin C also has the benefit of making the uterus an unfriendly environment for the implantation of a fertilized ovum.

In cases of very early pregnancy, Vitamin C in lage doses has been shown to interrupt the pregnancy, resulting in a spontaneous abortion. Many women have used the vitamin in order to avoid a surgical or chemically induced abortion.

  3. Step 3

If your period is late, you can take a large dose of Vitamin C to induce your period. This works well if your period is only a few days to a week late. The dosage used most often to bring on a period is 1500 mg, twice in a day. In my own personal use, this has brought on a late period by the next evening.

  4. Step 4

Have plenty of menstrual pain relief medication on hand. A period induced with Vitamin C can have stronger cramps than your normal period.

Tips & Warnings
  • Before using Vitamin C, if your period is late, take a home pregnancy test.
  • Take the vitamin with food to avoid stomach upset.
  • To make the pills dissolve faster, drink plenty of water.
  • If you suspect you are pregnant, Vitamin C in a large dose can cause a miscarriage. A miscarriage can cause hemorrhaging, which can be lethal.
  • While Vitamin C is an immunity booster, constant use of it in large doses can do damage to human DNA. Large doses of over 500 mg a day has been linked to damage to the heart and other internal organs.
  • This article is not medical advice. It is only intended to educate on the use of Vitamin C as a possible method to bring on a delayed period due to stress or other similar factors.
  • If your period is late, take a pregnancy test or visit your doctor.
  • Natural does not automatically mean safe. Use caution with a home remedy just as with a traditional medical method.

on 3/15/2009 I cannot tolerate hormones either. I just came out of a relationship and used Depo Provera for 2 yrs because I already have 3 children. I plan to use vitamin C to bring on my period as the Provera has totally messed up my system. I have used this method before, with no side effects and great results!!!

on 12/30/2008 Well, based on my experience from taking large doses of vit C, I usually experience bouts of diarrhea. Maybe that explains somehow how large doses of this vitamin works on preventing pregnancy.
