I have curly, coarse dry hair. For years I tried everything the the market to make if feel soft. It looks soft but dry hair does not hold moisture and within a few hours of using conditioners it was back to feeling dry as a bone. I found a solution which was cheap and easy.

body butter

Step1

Body Butter for Skin After washing, conditioning and blotting my hair dry I use body butter. You don't have to buy the most expensive brands. The ones I get usually cost $3 to $4 for a large tub of about 8 oz.

Step2

Body butter for skin can be used very well on hair. Apply it to your hands and massage it into your hair. Do not massage it into your scalp where it could build up. Just your hair especially the ends.

Step3

Let it dry or sleep on it. At first it will look greasy but when it soaks in your hair will be soft and curly without the frizz and dryness. It will smell great too since the body butters have great fragrances.

Tips & Warnings

Use the body butter on your skin too since that is what it is for and it will soften your skin especially the heels of your feet.

on 5/12/2008 Body butter is a product that is manufactured and sold under different brand names. It is not actually butter. It has a consistency like soft butter and is made is a variety of ways. Look in the lotion section. It comes in tubs.
