Things You’ll Need:

1/2" Sheet of Plywood
Sand Paper
Electric Sander
Jig Saw
Wood Putty
Primer
Pencil
Black Marker
Acrylic Paints
Artist Brushes

Step1

First select the image want to make, use google then print out your design. For beginners try something simple, lets say a snowman. Set up your workbench layout the plywood and prep it. Putty all the holes then sand the wood down.

Step2

With the wood all prepped sketch out the snowman on the wood with a pencil, use a marker over the lines to make them more definitive. You may want to go a bout 4 foot in height or bigger for the snowman, the size is completely up to you.

Step3

Cut out the snowman using a jigsaw, I recommend using a finer saw blade so it doesn't rip up the woods edges. Once its cutout sand the edges and coat both sides with a primer.

Step4

Redraw your lines in pencil, they will pretty much be covered by the primer, and once you have them right retrace them in black marker. Now using acrylic crafts paints which can be found at Michaels begin painting the snowman. Don't worry bout going over any lines they can be redone later. Just get all the colors painted on there.

Step5

Now that all the colors are painted and dry, go back over all the lines with a black marker again and you got yourself some new lawn decor. For the next one try something a little more challenging and the end product will be that much more rewarding.
