From Quick Guide: Greek Food
Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Guest list and invitations
  • Recipes for Greek food
  • Greek music
  • Greek decor
  • Party supplies related to a Greek theme
  1. Step 1

Prepare a Guest list and send out the invitations.

  2. Step 2

On the morning of the party, begin to prepare the appetizers, main course and desserts ahead of time.

  3. Step 3

Set up one designated space in your home to be redesigned into an authentic Greek-styled atmosphere, complete with blue and white decor items, music and smells.

  4. Step 4

Offer a buffet style dinner for guests. Have appetizers, main course and even desserts available in one area.

  5. Step 5

After dinner play some Greek-inspired games and encourage your guests to mingle.

Tips & Warnings
  • The colors of blue and white are rich in Greek history, so use these colors throughout your transformation space.
  • Greek appetizers are a must to serve to guests before the party begins. Baked feta and tomato are a good choice along with warm pita chips with a tatziki dip; both are popular Greek appetizers to serve up and enjoy.
  • Main course meals such as gyros or lamb chops are a good choice.
  • Desserts such as baklava and almond bars can also be served.
  • Greek-inspired music can create a subtle backdrop of Greek flair.
  • Do not attempt to create Greek foods for the first time the day of the party, since many of these recipes can take years for some people to perfect. Practice on your family a few weeks in advance and ask for their feedback on the result of your creations.
