How to Host a Snack Theme Potluck

Need to plan a potluck but not sure what theme or food style to go with? Why not try something different and have a snack potluck. This is a smörgåsbord of snacks in which the guests all bring in their favorite snack to share. From chip dips to cheesecake bites, what will be on the table will surely be a surprise.

Things You’ll Need:

• Guest list and invitations
• Plates
• Tableware
• Napkins
• Serving utensils
• Refreshments
• Background music

1. Compile a list of everyone you want to invite to the potluck. If this is an office potluck, send out an all staff memo.
2. A few hours before the potluck, set up all of the table settings and lay out the serving utensils. Play some background music if desired.
3. As guests bring in their snacks, help organize the food categories so they will be easier to find when guests fill their plates.
4. Offer drinks such as soda, juice, coffee, water or tea.

Tips & Warnings

• Encourage guests to bring in unique snacks or new recipe creations.
• Either buffet style or lap style is fine for a snack potluck.
