Things You'll Need:
- Pug rescue organization you would like to raise money for
- Local newspaper or website to advertise the event
- Invitations
- Donations and gifts from local area businesses and individuals
- A community center or hall to hold the event
- Raffle tickets
- Money box
- An empty box the size of a large shoe box
- Light refreshments
- Background music
- Chairs
- Small tables
- Napkins
- Note cards for auction numbers and auctioned items
- Pens
- Auction volunteer or auctioneer
- Pug decor centerpieces (optional)
- Thank you notes

Step 1
Rent a hall or large space up to 6 months in advance.

Step 2
Visit local businesses and individuals and ask if they would like to donate cash or other auction items for the charity event.

Step 3
Advertise for the event up to a month in advance on your local radio station, newspaper or website. Send out personal invitations to those who you know would like to attend.

Step 4
Set up the hall or rented space. Decorate the tables with Pug centerpieces or flowers. Have light refreshments available to the guests.

Step 5
Greet guests and in turn for their auction number collect their money.

Step 6
Have donated merchandise and gift certificates on display with a lot number.

Step 7
Begin the auction, and have a volunteer or professional auctioneer man the auction and have another volunteer keep track of who won.

Step 8
Collect the money from the winning bidders and give them their merchandise.

Step 9
Deliver prize money to your favorite non-profit Pug rescue organization.

Step 10
Within 2 weeks send out thank you notes to guests, donors and winning bidders.
