- Party favors
- Adult party games
- Food of choice

Step 1
Up to 2 months in advance, compile a guest list of who you will be inviting to the party. Remind them it is a surprise.

Set up the party space with over-the-hill party decor, black balloons and tablecloths.

Step 3
Have guests hide until the birthday recipient walks in.

Serve light refreshments and birthday cake.

Open presents and play games.

on 2/14/2008 I threw a surprise birthday party for myself. The invitations read "For me, by me, don't tell me." Everyone jumped out and yelled surprise after I let them all in and left the room.
