She was not a follower of the true God. She was a prostitute. Yet, because of the faith she came to have, Rahab is even listed in the New Testament as a hero of the faith. There is a lot we can learn from her life.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A Bible
  • Prayer
  • A pen or pencil and paper would be helpful.
  1. Step 1

Read about the life of Rahab in Joshua 2 in the Old Testament. Ask God to show you what you can learn from her life. Take notes.

  2. Step 2

First of all, note that Rahab was a prostitute. She was not a Jew. She did not believe in the true God. It does not matter what we have done in our lives. God will forgive us if we turn to Him from our sin and trust His Son, Jesus Christ, as our Savior. Rahab is even listed in the great hall of faith in Hebrews in the New Testament. She is also listed in the genealogy of Jesus Christ in Matthew.

  3. Step 3

Second, we can learn that we can trust God, His Word, and his servants. Rahab told Joshua that she knew God had given the land to the Jews. She knew how God had led the children of Israel through the Red Sea and to defeat pagan armies. She said she was afraid of God's judgment.

  4. Step 4

We can learn that we can act on our faith and seek mercy from God, and He will respond. She harbored the Jewish spies. When Israel attacked Jericho, Rahab and those in her house were spared, because they gave the sign God told them to.
