How to prune a tree!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • pruners
  • black spray paint
  • gloves
  • eye protection
  • waste plan
  • colored string
  1. Step 1

    Using string mask of how deep and or how wide you want to prune your tree.

  2. Step 2

    At the strings you marked the tree with, up and down cut the braches at an angle with the face of the cut pointing in the direction you want to start growing again.

  3. Step 3

    Spray paint all snips with black spray paint to keep bug attraction down, therefore limiting bug decomposition.

Tips & Warnings
  • Tie off heavy braches to prevent injury or damages when branches fall.
  • Wear protective supplies.

on 10/10/2009 Poor pruning, especially of beautiful trees and shrubs is the single most awful trend I see in America today. Lack of understand about the when and how of pruning results in needless ugliness for the rest of us and death or stunting of beautiful trees and mature shrubs.
