Easy vegetable tempura is just that: easy! This recipe is ideal for a group of people or for just one and can be served as an appetizer or entree.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Assorted vegetables cut into bite-size pieces
  • One mixing bowl
  • One cup of white flour
  • Half a cup of corn flour
  • Quarter of a cup of ice water
  • Large skillet
  • One cup of cooking oil
  1. Step 1

Pour one cup of vegetable oil into large skillet and heat to medium-high heat.

  2. Step 2

Combine the one cup of white flour, half a cup of corn flour and ice water in the mixing bowl. Mix until the ingredients form a thick, soupy mixture.

  3. Step 3

Thoroughly coat each piece of bite-size vegetable and place in the hot oil.

  4. Step 4

After cooking vegetables for three minutes, carefully remove with a pair of tongs and place on a paper towel to dry.

Tips & Warnings
  • Eat pieces of tempura rather quickly after cooking as the vegetables taste best right after cooking. If you allow to sit too long each piece gets soggy.
