How to Change Text Color in Adobe Photoshop

Adding text to an image is easy with Adobe Photoshop. Changing the color of text is easy too, but the process for doing this is a little less obvious.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Click on the text tool from the left hand vertical toolbar. The text tool looks like a big "T."

  2. Step 2

    Type some text.

  3. Step 3

    Double click the thumbnail of the layer you just types the text on. This selects your text.

  4. Step 4

    Go to the control bar at the top of your screen.

  5. Step 5

    Double click on the rectangle which has the same color as your text. The rectangle is about in the center of your control bar, next to the justify buttons.

  6. Step 6

    Choose a color once the color picker pops up. This will change you text color!

Tips & Warnings
  • If you pause your cursor over the buttons, a name will pop up to help you choose the correct tools and settings.
