The Windows key on your keyboard provides plenty of shortcuts, most of which need to be memorized. Here is a small collection of the most important ones.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Windows XP
  • Windows keyboard
  1. Step 1

    To launch the 'Start' button, simply press the Windows key. To turn it off, press it again.

  2. Step 2

    To minimize all windows, press the following: Windows key + M.

  3. Step 3

    To undo minimize all: SHIFT + Windows Key + M.

  4. Step 4

    To launch the 'Run' dialog: Windows Key + R.

  5. Step 5

    To launch 'Find Files or Folders': Windows Key + F.

  6. Step 6

    To show the desktop:

    Windows Key + D

  7. Step 7

    To launch the 'System Properties' dialog box: Windows Key + Break.

  8. Step 8

    To cycle through Taskbar Buttons: Windows Key + TAB.
