How to Write A Book
-
1
Decide what you would want to write about. Keep in mind if you just had an incidence or experience to share, write an article rather than a book. For writing book you really need solid ideas. Before anything else, you must sit down and brain storm in a quiet area, where your concentration will not be disturbed.
-
2
Think of a reasonable title for your book. This can be changed or altered at a later point but having a name to begin with will prevent you from deviating from the main theme of your book.
-
-
3
Enumerate contents ahead of time. This will keep you going for longer periods before you experience 'writer's block'. Moreover it gives you short term goals for completion of your book, such as finishing one particular chapter in next five days or so.
-
4
Write down your ideas under different chapters of your book to be elaborated later. Lets say you got an idea that should be written under chapter number 12 and you are currently working on number 4, keep a separate MS word file to record the ideas. Ideas can be volatile so write them down the moment you get them you may elaborate on them later.
-
5
After you have completed the book read it after a weeks time. You will definitely get more ideas to add and delete the repetitive things.
-
6
Give it to other members of your family to read or trusted friends. I am sure they will give many more suggestions to improve the overall quality.

This is really good information! I wrote a short story a few years ago for a class, and have been told it is a great outline now just write the book. I may have to do that this year or at least start writing it.
