If you are working with an image that depicts two people walking on a busy city street and you want the image to focus on the people in the picture without the background distractions the Selection Tool in Adobe InDesign is an easy fix.

Things You'll Need:

  • Adobe InDesign CS2
  • Windows XP

    How to Crop and Resize an Image

  1. Step 1

    Open an Adobe InDesign document from the File menu or Welcome screen. The document should have at least one image on the page.

  2. Step 2

    Activate the SELECTION TOOL in the Tools box.

  3. Step 3

    Place the mouse cursor over one of the image handles. To crop the image, click the image handle and slide the frame inward. Repeat this process of resizing the image handles until you are satisfied with the selection.

Tips & Warnings
  • Hold down the SHIFT key before resizing the image handles to maintain the original proportions of the image.
