You can send photos as email attachments to friends and family.

When you want to share photos with friends and family using AOL Mail, you may wonder how to do that since the program doesn't have a "Photo" button. That doesn't mean you can't attach pictures to your email; you just have to go through a few steps to be able to do so.

Things You'll Need

  • AOL 9 (or later)
  • Internet connection
  • Computer with Microsoft Windows Vista or Microsoft Windows XP
  • AOL email account

Instructions

      Click "Compose" to open a new email.

      Click the "Paperclip" icon to open a window to attach files to your email.

      Browse to the file that contains the picture (or pictures) you want to send as an attachment. Click the file and then click the "Open" button. You should see your attachment(s) under the Subject field of your email. If you do not see anything attached after a few minutes, repeat these steps.

      Repeat Steps 2 and 3 for each additional photo, file or document.

      Address your message, write a small introduction, if desired, and then click the "Send" button at the top of the screen.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you accidentally attach a picture or file, click detach and it will be removed.

  • Do not forget to click "Attach" (or Attach file). This is a key step to attaching your picture.
