Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Things You’ll Need:
- Plenty to write about
- Social networking experience
- A blog
Step1
Find a niche for your blog. Rather than writing about numerous topics, you can specialize in one thing that will keep readers hopefully coming back for more. Know a lot about college basketball? Write about it. Create multiple blogs if you have a lot to say.
Step2
Write well. You are going to have to write quality posts often if you are to keep your readers coming back for more. Write engaging material that will make someone rethink a topic or find out something completely new.
Step3
Join social networks to help gain new friends and readers as well. There are networks designed specifically for bloggers that help create readerships. If you need help finding visitors, make sure to sign up for these friendly, easy-to-navigate networks.
Step4
Make sure to read and comment on other blogs that you find interesting. You can also put a link to another blog that you like on your own, essentially giving another blogger free advertising. In most cases, the other blogger will return the favor and the potential for more readers will continue to grow.
Step5
Make sure to advertise yourself as well. Tell family, friends and other contacts about your blog. To make things even easier, set up an e-mail newsletter that will notify everyone you know about an update on your blog.
