Win Eye of the Storm in World of Warcraft

Eye of the Storm is a tough battleground if you don't know how to work it. If you know the trick, it's really quite simple. While Eye of the Storm marks of honor may not be used for as much as the other battleground marks, Eye of the Storm can be an excellent source of honor, provided you know how to win.

Instructions

    • 1

Report AFKers. With only 15 people on your team, you can't afford to have anyone slacking off. See our article on Dealing with Leechers in World of Warcraft for more info on this.

    • 2

Have two groups capture each of your primary points. These will be the Mage Tower and Draenei Ruins for the Alliance, the Blood Elf Tower and the Fel Reaver Ruins for the Horde.

    • 3

Have your third group rush forward and take one of the enemy's points. This is commonly called "Zerging", in reference to the alien Zerg race from Starcraft. The Zerg were the fastest race in the game, hence the inference. Make sure that you only attempt to take ONE of the enemy's points; taking both, while possible, is difficult and can lead to disaster.

    • 4

Hold the three points and never let any of them fall. While you will be sacrificing your flag-capturing ability by doing this, controlling three of the four points will give you a lot more resources than any amount of flag capturing ever will.

    • 5

Enjoy your honor! Seriously, this is all you need to do! If you can take and hold three of the four resource points, victory is assured. Your enemy can capture the flag the entire game and still not catch up to where three resource points will put you.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try and keep your troops on the defensive once you've captured three points. While taking the fourth may be tempting, it can leave one of your points vulnerable and cause your defenses to crumble.

That is patently false. If you allow the enemy to capture the flag over and over, they can and will beat you if you offer no resistance. It takes 30 seconds to capture a flag and provides 200 honor. That will end the game in 3 minutes +1 base resources.
