How to Get your Nether Drake in World of Warcraft

No doubt you've seen the people flying around Outland with their great Nether Drake mounts. If you haven't gotten one, you're probably asking yourself "how do I get one?" Here's how.

Things You'll Need

• level 70 character
• 5,000 gold for 300 Riding Skill

Instructions

1. Hit level 70, then start questing in Shadowmoon Valley. Work your way down to the crystal fields in the far southeast corner of Shadowmoon Valley, then look for an elf named "Mordenai" walking through the crystal fields.

2. Begin the quest to start helping the Nether Drakes. You will start out with negative reputation with the Netherwing, but don't despair, your reputation with them will improve quickly. Some of the quests in the chain will require a group to complete.

3. Buy your Epic Riding skill from your trainer. This will cost you 5,000 gold. Don't worry, it goes faster than you think. The trick is to save your gold and send it to an alt 100 gold at a time. This way you'll usually have enough gold for repairs and consumables, and will still have an efficient method of saving.

4. Go visit Mordenai again when you hit Neutral with the Netherwing and he will give you a fel orc disguise that you wear whenever you go into Dragonmaw territory.

5. Head to the Netherwing Ledge and begin questing there. You'll start out with just a few quests for the Netherwing, but as you gain reputation levels, the number of quests open to you will increase. Most of these quests are dailies, so be sure to do them as often as you can.

6. Keep an eye out for Nether Drake Eggs! These are random spawns that occur all over the Netherwing Ledge and in the mines beneath it. Each one is worth 250 reputation with the Netherwing, and the quest to collect them is repeatable, so grab as many as you can!

7. Keep at it. If you do dailies consistently and find a goodly number of eggs (1+ per day), you can go from Neutral to Exalted with the Netherwing in about two weeks. It takes most casual players a bit longer. Once you hit exalted, you will receive your Nether Drake and guess what: it's FREE! The only reason you'd need to pay for a Nether Drake mount is if you wanted an additional one.
