Wait, why clip a ferret's claws/nails? Well, keeping them trimmed keeps them from getting their claws caught on fabrics, lets them walk more easily, and you're less likely to be scratched by a wiggly pushy leg.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ferret
  • Chin
  • Ferretone
  • Small Pet Nail Clippers
  • And a handful of love
  1. Step 1

The first thing you want to do is find a comfortable way to sit down with your ferret.

  2. Step 2

Holding your little friend with two hands, stand him/her up close to you and fix his/her bottom to rest on your lap or belly. You should still be holding him/her under the front arms with one of your hands.

  3. Step 3

With your free hand, apply ferretone to your chin to distract the buddy, and clip with ease! Your ferret should be comfortably lying on your chest/belly, with limp limbs. Congratulations!

Tips & Warnings
  • Apply ferretone in very small drops!
  • You don't have to use your chin, lots of people use ferretone on their buddy's belly to distract them
  • You can follow these steps in the order 1, 3, 2 with similar results.
