How to Prepare Gulf Coast-Style Stuffed Peppers

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 6 bell peppers
  • 2 cups hamburger meat
  • ½ cup boil-in-bag rice
  • ½ cup beef stock
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 small onion
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • Buttered bread crumbs

Step1
Cook the hamburger meat. Boil rice. Wash peppers, cut out their caps and remove their seeds and inner membranes. Parboil for 5 minutes.
Step2
Stuff with meat, rice, stock, salt, pepper, onions, then top the peppers at the entry point with bread crumbs.
Step3
Place in a baking dish, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Step4
Cover the bottom of the pan with water and bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
