Things You'll Need:
- Faux suede paint
- Painter’s tape
- Primer
- A roller brush
- A 3" to 4" paint brush
-
Step 1
Tape off molding, baseboards and all areas you don’t want to paint.
-
Step 2
Use a primer to cover up the old color if you’re painting over a dark wall. Allow the primer to dry completely.
-
Step 3
Apply your first coat of suede paint with the roller. Cover the roller in paint and apply it in a large “M” shape on the wall. Begin in a corner near the ceiling and work your way down and across. Fill in the gaps by rolling across the “M.”
-
Step 4
Finish the wall by going over it again using floor-to-ceiling strokes. Smooth out any marks. Allow the coat to dry completely. It may take up to four hours.
-
Step 5
Apply the second coat of suede paint using a 3" to 4" paint brush. Dip the brush in paint and apply it to the wall using large “X” strokes. Make one large “X” and follow by filling in the gaps with smaller “X’s.”
-
Step 6
Remove the painter’s tape.
