From Quick Guide: Treat Blemishes
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 ripe tomato, chopped
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 T. instant oatmeal or old-fashioned rolled oats

    Pretreat Face with Steam

  1. Step 1

Prior to applying a mask steam your face. This will open your pores and help the mask clean them out.

  2. Step 2

Boil a pot of water and then let it sit for a couple of seconds.

  3. Step 3

Hang a towel around your head.

  4. Step 4

Place your head over the top of the pot (into the steam). Keep it there for about 5 minutes.

  5. Oatmeal Tomato Face Mask for Blemishes

  6. Step 1

Blend the ingredients together in a blender (low speed).

  7. Step 2

Apply it to your face making sure the mixture is thick enough to stay on the problem areas. If need be, add a bit more oatmeal to thicken the mask.

  8. Step 3

Leave the mask on for 10 to 15 minutes.

  9. Step 4

Wash off with a clean washcloth using warm water.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't have time to do the above, place a washcloth in hot water and then hold to your face for a few seconds (try up to 1 minute).
  • Careful! Don't touch the pot as it'll be hot. Just hold your face over the pot to let the steam do its job.
  • The steam tends to get pretty hot as well so you may have to step away from it for a couple of seconds and then put your face back in.
