Things You'll Need:
- sound machine

Step 1
First try placing it right beside your bed at night. The soothing sounds will therefore be closer to you than the distracting ones.

Step 2
Turn the sound up to a level that is loud enough to block the bad sounds but not so loud that it will bother you.

Step 3
Pick a sound from the machine that you most like. You should be soothed and calmed by it.

Step 4
If the sound machine isn't blocking enough bad sound, try putting it between you and the sound, if the sound always comes from the same place.
