Tie a scarf around your head to work as a headband. Head scarves are designed for this purpose. They're long and thinner than a regular square or rectangle scarf, and either come to points at each end or have squared-off ends. Simply wrap the scarf around your head and tie it in the back, at the nape of your neck underneath your hair. You can wear the scarf in the center of your head or more forward to cover part of your forehead. You can also cover your entire head with the scarf by turning a large scarf into a triangle, placing it over the top of your head and tying it underneath your hair in the back.

Loop a scarf around your neck and create a chic French twist by first folding a square scarf to make it into a thinner, narrow one. Then tie the scarf around your neck, and tie a knot. If the scarf is long, you can wrap it around the front of your neck first, cross it in the back and then tie it at the front. Pull the knot to the side of your neck.

Tie a European loop by folding a long, narrow scarf in half, looping it around your neck and then tucking the two ends through the loop that's created by the fold. This works with both warm weather and cold weather scarves, and is a quick, stylish way to throw on this accessory.
