Apples and pineapple go well together particularly when the apples are tart and the pineapple is packed in its own juice. A quick recipe is always good to have when unexpected company drops over or you are planning to host a small book club or card party. This recipe only has 100 calories per serving and one gram of total fat. Read on to learn how to make apple treat.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 medium tart apples, sliced
  • 1 8 oz. can crushed pineapple (packed in its own juice)
  • 4 packets artificial sweetener
  • ground cinnamon (to taste)
  • 6 tbsp. crushed graham crackers
  • 1/2 cup whipped topping
  • Microwave dish (or eight inch pie plate)
  1. Step 1

    In your microwave dish, layer apple slices. This recipe calls for leaving the skin on the apples, however the skin may be removed if you prefer.

  2. Step 2

    Do not drain pineapple. Pour entire can over slices and sprinkle with sweetener and cinnamon.

  3. Step 3

    Cook in microwave until apple slices are tender.

  4. Step 4

    Divide into six servings and top each with equal amounts of graham cracker and whipped topping.

Tips & Warnings
  • On an exchange list, each serving will only cost you 1 1/2 fruit exchange based on a 1,500 calorie diet.
  • Apples and pineapple will be hot when removed from the microwave. Be careful when handling them.
