Here is an example of a mini accordion paper album.

This is a fun little album to make and is quite simple. It takes just a little bit of time and only a few supplies. After you make your first one, you will just love to make more because they are just so cute. Read on to learn how to create a mini accordion paper album.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 9 1/2 by 3 inch piece of paper (color 1)
  • 1 9 by 3 inch piece of paper (color1)
  • 1 9 1/2 by 3 1/4 piece of paper (color 2)
  • Heavy duty scrapbooking tape
  • 12 inches of 1/2 to 1 inch ribbon
  • Ruler
  1. Step 1

Start with the 9 by 3 inch piece of paper (color 1). With the ruler measure 3 inches in from the 3-inch edge and fold, you will have just made a 3-inch square.

  2. Step 2

Turn paper over, fold the remaining paper in half to create a fold on both sides of the middle square. Each end should go a different direction to form an accordion folded piece of paper with the three sections. Set aside.

  3. Step 3

Next, the 9 1/2 by 3 inch piece of paper (color 1) will be used. Measure 1/2 inch from the 3-inch edge, fold, creating a 1/2 by 3 inch strip.

  4. Step 4

Turn paper over, measure 3 inches in from the fold and fold again the opposite direction, this will have just created a 3-inch square. You will already be able to see the accordion folded paper forming.

  5. Step 5

Repeat step two and set aside.

  6. Step 6

Next, the 9 1/2 by 3 1/4 piece of paper (color 2) will be used. This piece will be the cover to your album and is folded in the same direction for every fold. Measure 3 inches in from the 3 1/4 inch edge, fold over. Measure in from the first fold 1/4 inch in and fold. Measure in from the second fold 3 1/4 inches in and fold. Now the last fold, measure in from the third fold 1/4 inch in and fold, the last piece will be 2 1/4 inches long. Set aside.

  7. Step 7

Next, the two pieces of paper (color 1) and the tape will be used. On the inside of the 1/2 inch fold from the second piece used, apply tape to entire 3 inch length. Now with the other piece line up the 3 inch edge with the fold of the 1/2 inch piece and press the tape down. You will now have six 3 inch squares that alternate sides of the folds-creating an accordion folded piece of paper.

  8. Step 8

Now take the accordion piece of paper and apply tape around the entire edge of one of the 3 inch square end pieces. Lay the cover paper (color 2) down so that the 2 1/4 inch piece is on the left and 3-inch piece on the right. Apply the 3-inch square piece to the cover paper (color 2) by centering it on the 3 1/4 by 3 1/4 inch square.

  9. Step 9

Now flatten the accordion folded paper, fold the right side of the cover over first, then the left side, tie the ribbon around and into a bow. You’re done with the album itself except to decorate it and personalize it to your liking. There are a total of 11 pages on the accordion paper to put your pictures onto.

Tips & Warnings
  • Before you do your folds-measure twice fold once-it’s not a great look to have fold marks all over the paper in your album.
  • These make great gifts for people you want to share some of your pictures with. Grandparents love seeing pictures of their grandchildren.
