Be the talk of the town with this quick and easy conversation piece.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • (2) 10 foot long 2x4s
  • (1) 3 foot x 5 foot sheet of plywood
  • (1) 3 foot x 5 foot x 2 inch thick piece of foam
  • Circular saw
  • 4 foot x 6 foot piece of faux zebra hide
  • Drill
  • Screws
  • Staples
  • Stain
  • 1 afternoon
  1. Step 1

    Cut the 2x4s:
    4 pieces @ 16 inches
    2 pieces @ 51 inches
    2 pieces @ 31 inches

  2. Step 2

Build the frame from the 2x4s. Using the 16 inch pieces as legs, construct a frame that is 58 inches long and 34 inches wide. Make sure the 51 inch and 31 inch pieces are flush with the top.

  3. Step 3

Attach the 3 foot x 5 foot sheet of plywood to the top of the frame. Leave one inch on all sides.

  4. Step 4

Lay the zebra hide upside down. Center the foam on top of it. Flip the table over and place it directly on the foam. Staple the zebra hide to the underside of the table as close to the 2x4s as you can get.
    Cut away the excess.

  5. Step 5

Stain or paint the legs to your liking. Add a couple of coats of lacquer to give it a polished look.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you really want to go all out, you can get tacking to go around the edge of the table. For only a few dollars you can make it look expensive.
  • Never paint or stain without proper ventilation.
