We all think we are communicating the best we can with our loved ones. But there is always room for improvement. These few steps can make for a smoother relationship.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Be sure and sit down together when you are talking about something important.

  2. Step 2

Sit directly across from each other and make eye contact. This will encourage both parties to speak to the point.

  3. Step 3

Allow your partner to finish speaking before you speak. This lays the groundwork to understanding.

  4. Step 4

Don't take what your partner is saying for granted. Listen to him or her completely before jumping to a conclusion.
