Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Ammo.
Ammunition is always as great gift for a hunter. Why? Because even if they already have it, they will always need more. Be sure to know what type of weapon they are using before you shop. Also know what type of animals your hunter goes for. Then ask for professional help from the salesperson as to which would be best.
Step2
Hats.
Blaze orange for everything but Turkey. If your hunter hunts turkey, get him camoflauge. Otherwise, camoflauge is a dangerous choice and safety should always come before style. Warm hats that cover the ears for cold hunts and baseball type hats with a brim for warm hunts are a good choice.
Step3
Thermos.
A good beverage thermos will come in handy for deer stands and other types of waiting around in the cold hunts. Probably a "soup" thermos would not be needed as most hunters like to come in from the cold to eat.
Step4
Long Johns.
This is a great gift for long, cold hunts. Layering is key to saying warm.
Step5
Boots.
This will probably be the hardest item to pick but if you know your hunter already has a pair that need replacing, just get something similar. Otherwise, I don't recommend this option without getting the OK from the hunter first.
Step6
Multipurpose tool.
A multipurpose tool may come in handy while hunting. I recommend a Swiss Army Knife (with scissors) or a Leatherman.
Step7
Hunting Knife.
A good hunting knife will be appreciated. Check out your local sporting good stores and online stores for different types. I recommend Buck Knives.
