Nicely maintained nails can really polish off your look, while chipped or cracked nails can tear it apart. Though many women spend a lot of time and money on ensuring their nails look pristine, you don't have to. Read on to learn how to keep your nails well maintained.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Trim your nails until they're all the same length. Preferably just a little longer than the tips of your fingers.
Step2
Apply clear polish to your nails.
Step3
Clean under your fingernails when you wash your hands to ensure that they appear flawless consistently.
Step4
Choose a day or a specific time period, such as every Sunday or once a nail breaks, to re-evaluate your nails, their length and the polish. Take this time to do any touch-ups or to start the routine over again.

Tips & Warnings

  • Though colors and French manicures can look very nice on nails, they also leave no room for error, meaning that your upkeep will be much greater. It's simpler to stick to clear polish and never have to worry about whether your nails look tacky, inappropriate, unprofessional, unkempt etc.
  • Long manicured nails are neither in vogue or easy to maintain. So skip them and opt for a fresh, clean and polished look instead.
