How to Make a Polymer Clay Cross Picture Frame

Step1
The first thing you need to do is condition your white clay until you have a large enough piece for the cross that is 12-by-8 inches. The thickness needs to be 1/8 inch. Create one more of these for the back.
Step2
Next, make a template of a basic square cross to the size mention above. Cut out the template. Lay the template onto the white polymer clay, cutting the cross out with a knife.
Step3
Now, you need to space out this pattern format for the pictures and the beaded windows. Cut out the square for the picture followed by a 1-by-1-inch square for the bead window. Place three holes at the top of the bead window.
Step4
Create this at the top, middle, and bottom of the cross. Next you need to place three holes on both sides of the crosses middle sides.
Step5
To create a textured look to the cross, take a piece of lace that has a pattern that you like and place it on the cross at an angle. Take you glass roller and gently roll over the lace until you see the lace pattern appear in the polymer clay.
Step6
Place the back and the front of the cross into the oven and bake to the instructions on the polymer clay.
Step7
Let cool and add beads to the bead windows and to the bottom sides of the cross. You could use a string of beads on wires or just one simple bead dangling from a jump ring. Be creative.
Step8
Take a gold metallic craft pen and write your message, “God is watching over them.” In the areas of the cross that are available. I suggest the word God at the top, then right below the first bead window place the word is. Then from the left to right on the cross side panels write the words watching over and place the word them under the last bead window.
Step9
Tape the picture in place with small strips of tape.

Glue the back of the cross to the front. Just use enough glue to hold them together and where you can later remove if you need to change the pictures.

Find a nice place to hang this beautiful cross or give it as a gift.
