How to Improve Your Concentration with Dharana Yantra

Step1
Tantra has always had very definite theories concerning mind and its potential uses. Tantric considers mind to be the highest evolution of energy. Daharana means concentration. It is also the sixth stage of Ashtanga yoga. The concentration is to focus ones mind by mind and Dharana Yantra is a method to help achieve that. We will use this method to help practice and improve your concentration.
Step2
It is necessary for you to construct a special Dharana Yantra diagram. A Yantra is a geometrical figure used for concentration purposes. There are several different types of Yantra used throughout meditation and Tantra practices. Most Yantra’s are concentric figures, like squares, circles, lotuses, triangles, and points. The Dharana Yantra is made by pasting a two-inch white square into the middle of a regular size black sheet of paper. You can also use colored Yantra’s for the advanced Tantra users. The bases of Yantra operations is something called “shape energy” or “form energy.” This is where the Yantra emits energy patterns that we tune into while gazing at the Yantras.
Step3
Assume any meditative pose in yoga facing the pinned up Dharana Yantra. Make sure that the white square is at eye-level on the wall.
Step4
Close your eyes for two to three minutes relaxing and try to get eliminate all your thoughts and images. Focus on the energy and be open to feel the energy. If you are all stresses and not relaxed you will not reap the benefits of this exercise.
Step5
Open your eyes and stare at the center of the Yantra for 3 to 5 minutes. Try not to blink until there is an aura form around the edges of the white square.
Step6
Slowly transfer your gaze, without blinking, to a blank portion of the wall and concentrate back onto the Yantra, but this time on the black portion. When the black starts to fade, close your eyes and mentally recreate the process. You will think that your eyes are playing tricks on you. Now, you have developed your skills that are needed to perform the Yantra exercise.
Step7
The Dharana Yantra should be performed once a week and no longer that fifteen minute at a session.
