How to Make Your Own Specialized Quilling Paper in Microsoft Word

Open Microsoft Word new document. Go to The View Menu and select toolbars. Now click to have these toolbars: drawing, word art and ink annotation. They will appear at the top of the Microsoft Word software bars.

Click on draw text box and create a 1 inch by 6 inch text box. Make sure that the "Stop Inking" is not highlights or you will not be able to use the pens to draw your designs inside the test box. Click on the arrow to bring down the menu for different colors and different pens. Click on "Stop Inking" to go back to adding text or other Word features.

You can create a Word Art message inside the box. Click inside the box. Go to the "Art Word" toolbar and click on the first capitalized A. Click on the style you want and the text edit box will show up and type the word love. Now, do this repeatedly by changing the fonts and side until the box is filled.

You can also make sure that the Drawing toolbars is active at the bottom of the Microsoft document. Click on Auto Shapes click on Basic Shapes. Click on the Smiley face. Click where you want the face to start and pull the mouse outward and click where you want it to end. Then right click on the face to change the color of the line and the fill.

Right click on the text box so that the handles are highlighted. From the selection, select Format Text Box. In that box locate the in the fill area by the color select No Fill. Go to the in the line area by the color area select "No Fill."

Now, print out the paper. Cut into strip in the size of 1/8 inch.

Make your own custom quilling paper patterns with variegated colored paper. To try one example, from the "Basic Shape," Select the "Sun." Change the line color and fill. Create several of the suns. Cut just the strip in the middle of the sun. You will get the top triangle, the color strip from the circle, and the bottom triangle. The different colors add a great affect.
From the "Stars and Banners," use the "Banners."
From the "Blocked Arrows" there are two great cross shapes. Make them small enough that it will fit for the cutting of the 1/8 inch or 1/4 inch strips.
