Whether you're a collector, artisan or seller of sea glass, you might want to join the North American Sea Glass Association (NASGA). NASGA formed to educate sea glass enthusiasts, including sellers and artists, about genuine sea glass. Some items are often passed off as genuine sea glass, while others are merely imitation. If your hobby or trade is sea glass, then becoming a member of NASGA is for you.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Visit the NASGA website. Click on the "Membership" link on the top of the page. Download the retail/commercial membership application available as a Microsoft Word document from the membership page.

  2. Step 2

Print out the application. Choose to sign up for the mailing list only, which is free, or join under the commercial membership. Also, indicate if you wish to receive a copy of the NASGA newsletter via postal mail.

  3. Step 3

Fill out the required information on the application. This includes your name and business name and address, email address, tax ID number and business website. NASGA commercial membership allows for a link to your business website from the NASGA website.

  4. Step 4

Sign and date the application. Signing the document is important, as this indicates that you adhere to the NASGA Code of Ethics with the understanding that should you abuse your membership, the NASGA will revoke your membership.

  5. Step 5

Mail the completed application to NASGA at the address indicated at the bottom of the application. Don't send annual dues at this time. The NASGA will contact you once your application it reviews and accepts your application. Then you can remit your payment of dues.

Tips & Warnings
  • Annual dues for a commercial membership in NASGA is $275.
  • You can email your completed application rather than mail it to the email address listed at the bottom of the application.
  • Membership in NASGA doesn't mean that the association endorses your sea glass business.
