The FMX Coffin Trick is considered a little more advanced move to complete than simpler tricks like the Nac Nac and Can Can. Sometimes also called the Dead Body it requires a rider to lay prone as if they were laying in a coffin. Although not the most challenging trick, it still requires a certain level of skill to pull off.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1
Keep your hands on the handlebars. For a traditional FMX Coffin trick, you'll keep your hands on the handlebars throughout the trick. If you remove your hands, than you'll be doing a variation referred to as the Lazyboy.
Step2
Take both feet off their pedals and kick your legs out beneath the handlebars and in front of the motorcycle. Although this maneuver has also been referred to as the FMX Dead Body, most riders will differentiate the two tricks by placing their feet and legs over the top of the handlebars for the Dead Body instead of below.
Step3
Lie back and enjoy the ride. Lay your body all the way back along the seat until you're completely prone. The ending position should look as if you're lying down as in a coffin, which gives the trick its name the Coffin.
Step4
Sit back up. Once you've completed the FMX Coffin trick prepare for landing. All you need to do is sit back up, pull your legs back and put your feet back on the pedals.
Step5
Add a little more challenge. If you've mastered the Coffin trick and need something a little more challenging, then try a Back Flip Coffin or keep your feet out and do a no-footed landing.

Tips & Warnings

  • The FMX Coffin trick is fairly complicated and novice riders should get proper instructions and training before attempting to do it.
  • You should always wear the proper safety equipment including a helmet when practicing FMX tricks.
