How to Buy a Used Bodyboard

Bodyboarding allows you to ride the waves atop a board. The board is similar to a surfboard, except it's much shorter and made of foam. You usually lie down on it, but some people half-stand or stand on it for added challenge. Follow these steps to buy a used bodyboard.

Instructions

    • 1

Check online for used bodyboards. Use a search engine to find companies that sell used boards.

    • 2

Go to online auction and posting sites like eBay and Craigslist (see Resources below). Use their search function to look for bodyboards. This is where people will post the bodyboards they're trying to get rid of.

    • 3

Call or stop by stores that sell new bodyboards. Many of them may have a section devoted to used items, too. If not, they may at least be able to point you in the right direction.

    • 4

Know that many of the websites that sell used bodyboards are based in the UK or Australia, due to the sport's popularity there. Check their websites to see if they'll ship to the US.

    • 5

Buy the right size board for your body. A good rule of thumb is to make sure the top of the board comes within an inch of your belly button. You need it to hold up your body in the water. If it's too small, it'll sink. If it's too big it'll be difficult to maneuver.

    • 6

Have the bodyboard shipped to your house. Choose the shipping method that works best for you.

Tips & Warnings

  • If buying a bodyboard for a teenager, buy one that two inches longer than you need it. They're grow into it.
