Draw poker is the original game of poker that people often played before Texas Hold 'Em gained popularity. Many players learn draw poker before learning the more complex rules of Texas Hold 'Em. It is an easy poker game to play and can be played with as few as 2 players.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Place initial bets. Any players that want in on the round are going to ante up. The initial bet is typically low.

  2. Step 2

Deal out the cards. Each player is going to receive five cards face down. Once all players are dealt, everyone picks up the card to see their hand.

  3. Step 3

Bet again. Each person gets a chance to bet after checking out their hand. You are going to either check or raise during the betting round. You also have a chance to fold if you do not want to put money in the pot.

  4. Step 4

Trade in cards. During draw poker, you can exchange up to three cards in your hand at an attempt to make the best hand possible. If you are happy with your hand, then you request to stand.

  5. Step 5

Give the players another chance to bet. After all players have traded in their cards, there is one final betting round.

  6. Step 6

Show your cards. After the betting has finished, each player is required to show his hand. The best possible hand wins the pot.
